A GAS STATION MYSTERY

Exactly one year ago I’ve shooted this uncanny place, that I see every morning from my car when I drive to work. On that day I stopped and I took this photograph.

Few days later, I’ve also discovered that a much more skilled photographer than me, called Franco Monari, had taken a very similar picture at least one year before I did. You can see it for comparison here.

I still see that place every day and I’m still fascinated: one day I will stop again and hopefully make a better job.

I think this is a very peculiar subject, for which the photographer cannot do much, but just take the shot under a reasonably good light and hope to render the same feeling of weird nonsense it gives to visitors.
